Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is the start of a new month and we are hoping for a fresh start coming back to school next Monday, October 5th. Remember, this was originally scheduled to be a staff development day, but we are planning to have school. We will have a typical late-start Monday, and doors will open at 9:35 am.
We have not had any additional positive COVID cases since last Saturday. Our total cases sit at 18. We thank everyone for their patience during our remote learning time.
Since our first case, the district has done the following to help mitigate another outbreak:
An additional custodian has been hired.
The desk dividers ordered this past summer have arrived and are placed on desks.
The district will continue to require masks full time and give mask breaks.
An update will be coming soon on activities for next week.
Sincerely,
David Gute, Superintendent

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We finally have approval from the Iowa Department of Education in regard to our request to continue in remote learning for this upcoming week. We will be in remote learning through Friday, October 2nd. Our campus will remain closed to the public through Sunday, October 4th. There will be no activities during this time. This includes the use of the weight room.
We hope to return to school Monday, October 5th. October 5th was originally scheduled to be a no school day for teacher professional development. However, with the days out of the building, we feel it’s in our students’ best interest to have school on this date. The teachers will engage in professional development at the end of this week, so students will not have assignments from their teachers on Friday. We understand that many families plan ahead with appointments on these scheduled days off and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you for your support of Fremont-Mills CSD during these uncertain times. We hope to have everyone back in the building safely on October 5th. We will have a late-start Monday. Doors will open at 9:35 am.
Sincerely,
David Gute

Elementary newsletter from Miss Allyson
This communication is to make you aware of 8 additional positive COVID-19 student and staff cases at Fremont-Mills School, over the past week. These cases include exposures in elementary along with junior high and high school.
Fremont-Mills CSD has made a request to stay in remote learning for another week which is being reviewed by the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Iowa Department of Education. At this time, we have not heard back from the Department of Education, and a final decision cannot be made until we receive permission from them. We will update you with the school’s learning platform for next week as soon as a decision is made.
