During large group speech, students put themselves into pairs and groups, to participate in various speech categories ranging from acting, to improv, to mime.

They work together to prepare a piece, and then they go and compete at district level. If students receive a 1 at district level, they will then advance to state. After state, if students receive nominations from two judges, they could possibly move on to All-State. 

During individual speech, students work individually on a piece in categories ranging from poetry, to acting, to storytelling.  They also compete at district level. If students receive a 1 at district level, they will then advance to state. After state, if students receive nominations from two judges, they could possibly move on to All-State.
